Mhou-Farm in Rülzheim

The municipalities of Rülzheim, Hördt, Kuhardt and Leimersheim make up the municipality association of Rülzheim, where health, exercise and joie de vivre are the order of the day.

Right at the heart of the formerRhine wetlands, this is the ideal spot for water sport, hiking, cycling and Nordic walking enthusiasts to unwind. While taking the “Veloroute Rhein” or the “Klingbachradweg” cycle route along theRhine, you will encounter unspoilt nature, luxuriant forests, fragrant meadows and vast tobacco fields.

One particular highlight is the “Treidlerweg” walking route through the botanic diversity of the Hördter Rheinaue region, where you can find all kinds of rare plant and animal species. Or head off south on the Palatine St. James’ Way route through the glorious wetlands of the Old Rhine.

The swimming lake at the Moby Dick leisure centre is a great place to relax after a long walk or cycle.

A taste of Africa on the ostrich farm
While other, more traditional farms have cows grazing in their meadows, the Mhou Farm has ostriches stretching their long legs through the grass. From April to the end of September, animal lovers of all ages flock to the park to see the cute ostrich chicks.
